An Introduction From The Filmmaker
I am Justin Murphy, one of the filmmakers involved in the up and coming digital filmmaking scene in Orlando, Florida. Of my recent work, I have directed 18 digital films, and have also written 2 soap operas on the web, an eBook, and a treatment in every major film and television format -- the half hour sitcom, the hour long drama, the two hour television movie, and the feature film.
My productions are based in Orlando, Florida, I remember when I started in this business that my colleagues and I felt bad because we were working in Florida while most other actors, writers, and directors were working in Los Angeles. However, I am now laughing at the fact that most actors, writers, and directors now work outside of Los Angeles.
FOX, The WB!, UPN, Cable Television, and Feature Films are now producing outside of Hollywood despite the fact that most television series airing on ABC, NBC, and CBS are still produced in Los Angeles. If your outside of Los Angeles you won't get paid much money, but most people have left LA because they want more creative freedom. Filmmakers wish for their own little corner of the world, but as long as the big three nwtwork produce in Tinseltown, there will always be a big industry that claims power over all -- so for the time being, the century long war between Hollywood filmmaking that is considered to be a form of entertainment, and Independent filmmaking that is considered a form of art will continue to rage on.
However, NBC has just announced its acquisition of Universal, and NBC has also expressed interest in doing a project at Universal's production facilities in Orlando, hopefully this will be the catalyst that will result in the big three networks to seek production opportunities outside of Los Angeles, and eventually bring the film industry full circle.

The Great Train Robbery 100th Anniversary Tribute
It was the first movie to ever tell a storyline in 1903, directed by Edwin S. Porter, and produced by Thomas Edison. I took any material I could find on the internet, and digitally put together a reconstruction of the film. I also added a new soundtrack -- The Entertainer composed by Scott Joplin in 1902. And I was able to obtain the script for the movie from 1903 which was more of a film treatment as opposed to dialogue driven screenplays of today, and used it as a blueprint for the cinematography and editing. If you would like to see the film then please e-mail me at Justt79623@aol.com
I have an upcoming television series in the works, the current production materials include a writer's and director's bible for the series, a script for the one hour pilot, a tentative shooting schedule, and we're also halfway through the budgeting process.
